The Challenge

Vote.org is a nonpartisan nonprofit that uses technology to simplify political engagement, increase voter turnout, and strengthen American democracy. Despite its reach and impact, the organization’s visual identity and brand messaging lacked the consistency needed to generate broad recognition and communicate its bipartisan stance effectively.

Our Approach

Interactivism partnered with Vote.org to refine its visual identity and develop a cohesive brand messaging framework. The process began with a thorough audit of the existing identity across the website, social media, email campaigns, and print collateral. We then held stakeholder interviews with core team members, donors, and community organizers, followed by collaborative work sessions to synthesize findings and focus the creative strategy.

The Solution

We designed a new logo and brand identity, then developed comprehensive brand guidelines — including a messaging framework aligned with the organization’s core brand pillars. A key design requirement was ensuring the logo worked effectively on both red and blue backgrounds, communicating Vote.org’s bipartisan position at a glance. The result was a strong, modern identity system that better represents a technology-driven organization fighting for democratic participation.
