Launching the next layer 1 blockchain
Serving as the acting UX team for the xxnetwork blockchain launch, designing dApps, a block explorer, and a voting application.
The Engagement
Interactivism joined David Chaum and the Elixxir team as the strategic and tactical UX launch partner for xxnetwork, a new layer 1 blockchain. Embedded within the high-paced global team, we acted as the in-house UX function, simultaneously driving design and development support across multiple decentralized applications.
What We Built
xxmessenger — We designed the launch version of this privacy-focused dApp built on the xxnetwork blockchain. The only requirement for joining is a username, removing traditional identity barriers while preserving user privacy through the network’s cMix cryptography.
xxscan — We designed and provided development support for the new version of xxscan, the xxnetwork block explorer. This included a new design system for visualizing the complex process of blockchain governance.
Website — We contributed PR and marketing support in collaboration with partner agencies Moonburn, Maneuvre, and Seratonin.
Vote XX — In collaboration with xx Labs and an international team of voting experts, we worked on a concept for a quantum-resistant, intimidation-safe election application built on the xxnetwork blockchain using cMix technology.
Outcome
xxnetwork launched on schedule in January 2022, receiving positive coverage from TechCrunch and strong community engagement on Discord and Telegram.
