Location-aware social messaging
Building TinyRobot from concept to launch — naming, branding, and full UX and UI design for a location-aware social messaging iOS app.
The Concept
Coordinating spontaneous plans with friends shouldn’t require an endless chain of texts. TinyRobot offered location-aware communication that brought people and places together in real time — letting users share their location with select friends for a defined window (five minutes or five hours), discover what trusted friends and like-minded people recommended nearby, and receive push notifications from favorite food trucks or local spots.
Our Role
Interactivism worked on every aspect of the TinyRobot experience, from the earliest stages of concept ideation through to final UI design and quality assurance. We led the naming process, developed the branding and visual identity, designed the full information architecture and interaction model, and delivered the final UI for the iOS app.
The Outcome
TinyRobot entered private beta with an iOS app ready for App Store submission, offering a genuinely novel take on location-based social coordination — one that respected users’ privacy by giving them explicit control over when and with whom they shared their whereabouts.
