Shindigz redesign
Redesigning key sections of Shindigz's 90-year-old party supplies e-commerce site with a focus on navigation, checkout, and responsiveness.
The Client
Shindigz has been selling party supplies for 90 years, and e-commerce had become an increasingly important revenue channel over the most recent two decades. As the company’s online business grew, the site’s user experience had not kept pace — creating friction at critical moments in the purchase journey.
Our Process
Interactivism worked with Shindigz during the first half of 2015. We began with an extensive heuristic evaluation of the existing e-commerce experience, systematically identifying usability issues across the site. That evaluation informed the redesign scope: global navigation, shopping cart and checkout, search and browse, templates for the home page, category pages, and detail pages, and Shindigz’s unique personalization features.
The Redesign
Every element of the redesign was designed with responsiveness across desktop, tablet, and mobile in mind. We developed a UI component library to ensure design consistency across the site and to give Shindigz’s development team a reusable foundation for future updates. The result was a more coherent, conversion-optimized shopping experience that modernized one of e-commerce’s longest-standing party supply brands.
