How the scam operates
- Victims receive payment offers in Tether (USDT) cryptocurrency for completing small tasks labeled “optimizing apps”
- Commission payments are promised for submitted tasks
- The scheme escalates through “combination tasks” requiring deposits of additional USDT to clear negative balances
- Initial deposits are small but increase progressively
- Communication occurs via WhatsApp
